Artist Biography

Bianca Pirlog (b. 1994, Brăila, Romania) is a London-based contemporary artist whose work is defined by an ethereal yet quietly resolute visual language. Working across painting and technologically mediated mixed-media processes, her practice explores emotional intensity, inner dualities, and the delicate tension between strength and vulnerability.

A graduate of the University of the Arts London, Pirlog further developed her artistic vision through academic and cultural studies in Japan. Her engagement with Eastern philosophies and aesthetic traditions continues to shape the contemplative, atmospheric, and meticulously constructed nature of her work—where surface, materiality, and presence exist in deliberate balance.

With a strong international presence, Pirlog has presented her work in over 40 exhibitions worldwide, including 16 solo exhibitions and 20+ group shows across Europe, Japan, the United States, and the Middle East. Her work has been shown in major cultural centres such as London, Paris, New York, Kyoto, Cologne, Dubai, and Venice.

She has exhibited at distinguished institutions including the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant (in collaboration with UNESCO) and the National Library of Romania, affirming her position within the contemporary international art landscape.

Her practice has been recognised with 50+ merit diplomas, featured in over 50 publications and newsletters, and presented on national and international television, including Pro TV. In recognition of her cultural contribution, Pirlog is the recipient of the Excellence in Culture Award, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Romania.

Today, Bianca Pirlog continues to gain international recognition for a practice marked by conceptual depth, material refinement, and sustained artistic rigor.
